BYE BYE BIRDIE is a musical satire of 1950s American rock-and-roll culture that follows songwriter Albert F. Peterson and his secretary/girlfriend Rosie DeLeon, who manages the Elvis-inspired rock star, Conrad Birdie.
When Conrad is drafted into the Army, Albert and Rosie travel to Sweet Apple, Ohio, to stage a publicity stunt: a final kiss for a fan, Kim MacAfee, on national television. The arrival of the rock star turns the quiet town upside down, causing mass hysteria mixed with warmth and humor.
* August 20, 2026, show at Petersen Barn Community Center, 870 Berntzen Rd, Eugene, Oregon.
